Accuracy Standards

We base our rating standards on the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI) "Best Practices for Measuring Quality in Medical Transcription" guidelines. The Quality Assurance department uses these standards to evaluate accuracy ratings with the only differences being that we place a higher weight on critical errors than recommended in these guidelines and we require a higher accuracy rating than suggested. For details, download the AHDI document below.

All transcriptionists, recent graduates* as well as experienced transcriptionists, begin on "probation", meaning they must have 100% of their reports evaluated by the Quality Assurance department before being submitted to our clients. These reports are not merely corrected. They are corrected and returned to the transcription associate with recommendations, references and guidance so that the transcriptionist can learn why the corrections were made and therefore improve his/her skills, learn new sources of information and be less likely to make the same mistakes.

Once a medical transcriptionist reaches a consistent accuracy rating of 98.8% or better with 0% critical errors, they are released from probation and will have random quality checks of no less than 10% of their reports.
