The Wordsmiths Difference

How we are different from…

LARGE TRANSCRIPTION CORPORATIONS

We believe that we have more to offer our clients than the large, national transcription entities for a number of reasons. Our transcriptionists are assigned to only specific doctors. We carefully select which medical transcription associates have the skill level and availability to meet the needs of each specific customer. This increases performance and accuracy on the transcription end. With the large corporations, transcriptionists typically never hear the same dictator in one week. They are typing for a pool of hundreds of physicians and often have to compete for assignments, which leads to sloppy, rushed work and practically no familiarity with individual dictator characteristics.

In addition, our QA department firmly believes in an educational approach to editing. We don't merely correct errors; we explain the reasons for the corrections and view each mistake not as a shortcoming but an opportunity for ongoing enhancement of our fellow colleagues' skills.

We don't require contracts or commitments of any kind from our physicians. We feel that contracts dilute the need to strive for excellence in service. We take pride in the knowledge that our clients use our service and stay with us not out of contractual obligation but because we are good at what we do.

There are no minimum production requirements imposed upon our transcriptionists nor do we enforce rigid schedules. As long as a typist meets deadlines, they are free to work any schedule they choose. Our philosophy is that only happy transcriptionists can produce phenomenally skillful work, so we do whatever it takes to work with only the happiest medical transcriptionists. Therefore, medical transcription associates at The Wordsmiths have as much flexibility as our clients do.

Lastly, our business is owned and operated by a real working certified transcriptionist, not a committee of executives with only second-hand knowledge of the industry. We understand the needs of medical transcriptionists as well as the needs of the physicians who use our service, which include the needs of the patients who depend on those physicians.

INDEPENDENT MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTIONISTS

The Wordsmiths team improves upon the services offered by an individual medical transcriptionist as well. An independent typist typically has no one to proofread his/her work, whereas our team is collaborative. All new-client reports are 100% inspected by our expert Quality Assurance department until the accuracy rate is consistently at or above 98.8% (AHDI recommends 98.0%) with 0% critical errors. We have a network of experienced colleagues who communicate regularly for help and support. In essence, you get an entire team of transcription associates for the price of one!

Our team consists of your regular typist as well as a reliable group of associates standing by in case your medical transcription associate cannot complete his/her assigned work on time. In this remote and potentially isolated career, a lone transcriptionist often cannot take vacation or emergency time off without disrupting workflow.

Our flexibility in service options is only made possible by our fantastic group of skilled medical transcriptionists, each contributing unique talents and personalities. We have the ability and the desire to meet all of your specific needs.

To summarize, The Wordsmiths offers the flexibility, quality, and first-class results of the largest transcription organizations while providing the warm, personal service of an independent medical transcriptionist.
